The International Forum on the Social and Solidarity Economy took place from October 17 to 20 and attracted over 1300 delegates from some 60 countries.
The forum coincided with the 15th anniversary of the Chantier de l'économie sociale. The choice of forum topics resulted from their vision of the social and solidarity economy as a strategic component of a new model of development and social transformation.
At the closing ceremony, the participants hailed the event's success in raising the profile of the social economy model among all three levels of Montréal politicians and public organizations, such as the Commission des partenaires du marché du travail, and its president, who highlighted the significant role played by the 125,000 people who work in this sector in Québec.
A number of CDEC directors participated in the forum, as did as our agent Anissa Kherrati, who coordinated bus tours to enterprises for participants from all over the world.
