Over the summer, the CDEC hired Judith Proulx, a master’s student in architecture from the Université de Montréal, to provide free advice to merchants of Victoria Avenue in the scope of the business section of the Réussir@Montréal program. Over the past three months, Ms. Proulx used SketchUp software to draught 89 design sketches, which were given to merchants who wished to apply for financial assistance to renovate their building façades. When Pierre Arcand, MNA for Mont-Royal visited, he was able to see the extent of the work carried out by the CDEC. The project is the result of a partnership with the Service du développement de l’aménagement urbain et du développement économique. François Da Sylva, economic development commissioner for the CDN–NDG borough, and all the merchants who benefited from Ms. Proulx’s services expressed their satisfaction. |
