Job Placement Assistance Service
A Free Job Placement Assistance Service for Employment Insurance Beneficiaries and Employers, offered by your CDEC

Ten community economic development corporations (CDEC) in Montréal joined forces last November to launch a free Job Placement Assistance Service to help employment insurance beneficiaries find jobs and employers recruit staff.

The service provides a rapid response to the needs of employment insurance beneficiaries by identifying job opportunities that correspond to their skills and by helping them make contact with employers to find jobs. The job counsellor at each CDEC will establish the professional profile and assess the skills of the job seeker to determine the type of employment sought. Afterward, the business adviser will canvass businesses in order to prospect hidden jobs and promote them to job seekers.

This free service is specially designed for employers who have labour needs but who lack the time and resources to find the best candidates and, ultimately, the perfect employee.

For over 20 years, the CDECs have responded to the labour needs of employers in Québec through a wide range of services designed for both new and established businesses. CDECs have access to a data bank of candidates with diverse backgrounds, skills and qualifications, and whose professional profiles correspond to what employers are seeking.

The personalized approach of the CDECs' job placement assistance team synchronizes the needs of businesses with those of a multitude of candidates looking for new jobs.

Several employers are already actively participating in the program and taking advantage of the candidate preselection service, personalized support throughout the selection process and a number of other services designed specifically to fulfill to the needs of companies of any size.

Employment insurance beneficiaries and interested employers can contact their CDEC for more information. For the list of CDECs, click here
