The CDEC actively participates in meetings and working committees of the Round Table on Food Security in Cote-des-Neiges, a permanent committee of the Cote-des-Neiges/Snowdon Community Council.The CDN/Snowdon Community Council, a coordinating body with forty-three participating community groups, has as its mandate to improve the living conditions and quality of life of people living in the neighbourhood, to fight against poverty, discrimination and any form of exclusion, as well as to promote the development of projects and activities that tackle the problem of food security in Cote-des-neiges.

The Round Table on Food Security received a grant from the Direction de la Santé Publique de Montréal in 2006, which has enabled the hiring of two staff (community organisers).

The objectives of the Round Table on Food Security are :

 To develop and share knowledge, expertise, and a common vision concerning the problem of food security;
 To consolidate existing projects and to develop new projects to respond to unmet needs of the population;
To promote existing food security resources in the neighbourhood among residents and groups (the local resource guide "An Information Basket" brought up to date since September 2003).
