The CDEC plays an important role in mobilizing CDN/NDG employment services agencies in order to ensure that available services, resources, and programs available to residents adequately respond to their needs. The Table de concertation des organismes en employabilité CDN/NDG, under the responsibility of the CDEC, boasts 12 members representing non-profit agencies as well as government partners. Member agencies of this Round Table offer “preponderant and significative” employment activities via government funding.

An initial Round Table of local employment groups functioned briefly during the early years of the CDEC from 1993 to 1995. Following a dormancy period a revised formula – the Table de concertation des organismes en employabilité de CDN/NDG (or TCOE) – was created in 1999 when 8 of 9 employment groups in the CDN/NDG borough responded to an invitation by the CDEC to participate in a process of consensus-building. The subsequent meetings produced a structure and action plan arising from a mission statement adopted by the 8 founding members : « To foster the collaboration of employment organizations in order to ensure an effective response to the needs of the clientèle » .

In the years that followed the TCOE accepted new members and engaged in such activities as :

o Regularly scheduled meetings to exchange information and strategize actions
o Adoption of action plan, membership guidelines and logo
o Creation of an employment services Guidebook
o Liaison with new employers (Provigo, Réno-Dépôt, Canadian Tire) and bulk screening & referral of local potential employees
o Development of local Employment Fairs showcasing employers, community groups and local manpower potential
o Structuring of professional development workshops given by local staff and invited external resources

Since 1999 a number of members have disbanded or moved out of the borough :

o MAP Minority Apprentice Project (no longer active)
o Mode d’emploi Services for handicapped persons (moved)
o CME NDG Centre Multi Ethnique de NDG
o Petites-Mains Labour Market Insertion - Industrial Sewing (moved)
o BCRC Black Community Resource Center (lack of resources)

Currently the TCOE meets 8 times per year. Participating members are :
